Dear Residents,
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to the community. After two decades in the library field in school, public, and academic settings, I am very excited to be the new Executive Director, and I look forward to serving the community in the years ahead.
Our annual Budget Vote and Trustee Election will be held at the Library on Tuesday, April 5. Please come to the Library to cast your vote, enjoy a performance by some of our very talented elementary school musicians, and attend a reception for our equally talented young artists, whose work will be on exhibit.
The proposed budget for the 2016-2017 fiscal year has a zero percent increase, which complies with the New York State tax cap. Although total expenditures will remain the same as last year, we will be increasing the funding of key service areas, including our Children’s Easy Reader, Fiction, and Nonfiction book collections, and our Children’s, Teen, and Adult Programs.
Please stop in to take advantage of the wonderful resources and programs we offer for all ages. I look forward to seeing you at the Library!
Sincerely,
Dr. Roger Podell
